			Michael Frederick Halliday         Spring Flower         1822-1869         British         Signed with monogram and dated 1858         Oil on panel         20.2 x 15.2cm         Halliday was a close friend of both Millais and Holman Hunt. He accompanied Hunt on his return from the near east in 1865, and shared a studio with him in London. HIs work is closely associated with both these painters. A direct comparison with this picture can be found in Millais The Bride (Private Collection) which is also thought to be of the same date in which a girl is similarly garlanded.         Spring Flower by Michael Frederick Halliday
